Creston Arts Gallery
Creston Arts Gallery, located inside Creston’s Restored Depot, features monthly exhibits by local talent and visiting artists. The depot, built in 1899, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 when it was restored as Creston City Hall.

Creston Arts Center
Creston Arts Center, prominently located in uptown Creston, is home to Creston Arts gathering and maker spaces. It is where we host Summer Art Camp, yoga, poetry workshops, classes, and more.
Creston Arts Center is located at the corner of North Division and West Elm Streets inside what is fondly remembered by locals as the former Huff Bakery and/or the former White Dairy building. In 2019, Iowa State Savings Bank gifted the building to Creston Arts with starting renovation costs. Through grants and public financial support, the dream of a community art center and gathering space was actualized.

Some classes are free and some are fee-based. Either way, our mission is to make art accessible to all. If you are interested in applying for a full or partial discount on any of our classes or programs, please
apply for a scholarship.
Calling all instructors!
Artists interested in exhibiting in teaching art workshops at Creston Arts Center or in the Creston Community in 2023/24 are invited to apply to teach.
Public Art Tour
In 2020, Creston High School Art Teacher Bailey Fry-Schnormeier and a student approached Creston City Council to ask for permission to paint a city-owned wall. That initial ask has led to the creation of more than 50 vibrant murals in Creston and surrounding towns, all of which have been painted by participants in what has become the Mentor Mural Project.
Through this program, Creston area youth complete community service hours working in partnership with professional artists to create public art. This experience offers participants a variety of trade skills while contributing to creative collaborative projects that contributed to the region's economic growth.
